Biography
Yvon Lambert
Yvon Lambert was born in Luxembourg in 1955.
1980 to 1984 worked in Luxembourg's steel industry.
1984 to 1987 studied photography at Le 75 in Brussels.
1985 awarded Jules et Marie Destrée prize at Museum of Photography in Charleroi for a work on rural Wallonia
1987 produced a report on prison life at the CPL in Schrassig.
1989 took part in Europe Rurale project for French Ministry of Agriculture.
1990-91 selected by Pépinières Européennes to create a work in Naples, subsequently published in a first book Naples, un hiver.
1994 produced a work on European borders for Luxembourg, European City of Culture 1995.
1995 he took part in the project d'Est en Ouest, Chemins de terre et d'Europe, launched by the BPI of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. At the Grand Prix de la Ville de Vevey, Yvon Lambert won an award for this project Histoires de frontières.
1996 took part in Tokyo today for the EU Japan Fest.
1997 Derniers Feux, an exhibition and book on the final days of the last remaining blast furnace of Luxembourg.
1999 returned to Japan to create Nature/Culture courtesy of a Japan Foundation Fellowship.
2000-01 he produced Au rythme du Mékong, le Laos on behalf of the Luxembourg Ministry of Development Cooperation.
2003 published Retours de Roumanie, following numerous trips to Romania.
2004 Chroniques new-yorkaises, a project produced in New York during the presidential elections.
2003-05 published brennweiten der begegnung, a photographic portrait of the city of Differdange with poems by author Nico Helminger.
2007 published Lézardes (ed. Husson) on life in Havana, with short stories by Cuban author Karla Suarez.
2009-10 commissioned by the Centre National de l'Audiovisuel to produce a piece on agriculture in Luxembourg resulting in the publication of terres fermes.
2011 returns to Naples to work on a new project supported by the city of Differdange and publishes Napoli (ed. Husson).
2013 publishes On vacation, a photography project created during an artist residency in Clervaux for Clervaux, cité de l'image.
